Ghareaghaj River is one of the most important rivers in Fars. Its water is permanent and its width in mountainous areas is 20 m and in plain areas is up to 400 m.
This river with the length of 700 km, form where it originates to Persian Gulf plays an important role in the ecosystem and the environment in Fars province.
Ghareaghaj River after passing through agricultural lands such as Khafr, Kavar, Jahrom and Ghirokarezin enter the Persian Gulf with some streams and springs through Bushehr Province.
Now its water is used as a drinking water and agricultural purposes; construction of Salman Farsi Dam at counter of townships, Jahrom and Ghirokarezin and new studies over the construction of Kavar Dam over this river signify the importance of this river in Fars Province.
