Kafe Khonj Lake is one of the recreation centers is shiraz with an area of 130 square kilometers. It is located in Khonj city in 265 km to the south of shiraz.
This seasonal lake is situated in the vast plain.
The lake has east-west extent with the length of approximately 18 km and the width of 8 km.
In the local Dialect “Kaffeh” means a plain area without any gradient. Kaffeh Konj is a basin that is abundant with water during seasonal rainfall and it forms like a lake or marsh.
According to the historical documents this plain was known as “Kaffeh Haj Ayazkhan”. It was named so because a flock of white sheep was grounded during spring shower and it belonged to Haj Ayazkhan Qashqai.
Gol Shahpir square is one the close lakes to this area that is located at 15 km to the west of Haji Abad in Darab city.
