Surt Garapet Church is built in Abadan city in 1319. Surt Garapet Church is located exactly next to the Imam Jafar Sadegh mosque and it is the symbol of culture, freedom of belief and the art of religions.
This church was damaged during war. Nowadays there are a few Christians in Abadan, so no ceremony is performing in this church. Church is located in a corner of national manner school's building which is just for Armenian students.
This church is not the first church for Armenians in Abadan. Before its construction there were also two other churches.
