Marakan protected area
Marakan protected area is located in the south of the Aras river’s shore and in Khooy city.Khooy’s marakan protected area as the most important and beautiful ecotourism area with 103 thousand and 983 hectars is one of the oldest Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) quadruples areas.
The overall landscape of area is forest-mountain(sylvan-mountainious) that Zab River passes through the middle.brown bear,Caucasian squirrel,wild boar,wolf,rabbit,white stork,king owl,sparrow hawk,some species of ducks,several species of lizards are the most prominent species in the region.
