Road 59, also known as the Chalous Road or
Chalus Road or Kandovan Road, is an important road for people of
Tehran, a large number of whom drive to popular tourist attractions in the north of
Iran on weekends and for holidays.
This road is one of the busiest roads in
Iran.
Chalus Road is one of the most beautiful roads (and at some points dangerous because of the mountainous terrain) in
Chalus, a suburb of
Tehran, the Iranian capital.
It's a good twisting asphalt road which also connects the city of
Karaj with
Tehran. It displays a variety of sceneries from green to snow clad surroundings to rocky mountains in the north.
For the inhabitants of
Tehran,
Chalus is a seaside resort only three hours away from the capital. A seaside resort with beautiful forests. For the foreign tourist its contrast is surprising.
