It is one of the watery springs that provides the main agricultural water of Mehriz and yazd. The beautiful and specular spring of Gharbalbiz is located near Madvar Village.
Around the spring you can see the vegetation of sagebrush; the catchment of the spring has an area about 10 square kilometers.
The spring is like a natural trough, every year with the beginning of spring, fresh water flows through the mountains of region and falls into this trough to make it a natural lake.
There has been found some historic monuments around the spring that display the history of this area, for instance the mortar-shaped groove in the top of the spring that has been dug by hand, or three triangular towers in the mountain above the spring dating back to 4000 years called Anahita Temple.
One of the unique features of Gharbalbiz Spring is its water that its color doesn’t change as well as its quality; although it comes out of the gap of maintain it has fish.
This is still a mysterious spring for the people of this area.
